An appeal to authors and readers from the Editor-in-chief

Dear colleagues!

In recent years, many interesting and strategically important scientific discoveries have been taking place in the world. Scientific schools that have been successfully formed over the decades, proactive innovation projects, an adequate competitive environment, patriotism, and altruism have contributed to this process. Significant national projects “Education”, “Science and Universities” are being successfully implemented in the Russian Federation, and the “Priority 2030” Program is in effect. The goal of the “Priority 2030” is to form more than 100 modern progressive universities (centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of the country) by 2030, increase the share of Russian science in the global research and development market; ensure the attractiveness of work in Russia for leading scientists and young promising researchers; staffing priority areas of science development, technologies, machinery, economic sectors, social sphere; using the scientific, educational and innovative potential of universities to reduce the time needed to introduce innovations into the economy of Russia and some other countries.

During the publication of the scientific journal “Engineering Systems and Structures” since 2009, a strong community of scientists has rallied around it. All of them care about the future of domestic industry and science. Nowadays it is very important to focus the efforts of researchers on the development of anti-crisis measures and breakthrough solutions that will help our industry reorient itself, recover and develop new markets.

I am sure that each of us is ready to take part in this scientific discussion, and the journal, in turn, is ready to become a single platform for posting scientific publications on these topics.

All papers devoted to current anti-crisis developments and technological solutions for import substitution will be published out of turn. If there is enough materials, we are ready to make special issues.
